In 1994, Mr. Saferstein founded
G&D Trading Company and became a broker/dealer on the American
Stock Exchange (AMEX).
Over the course of the next decade, G&D became a bi-coastal operation with 25 traders on the Pacific Coast Exchange, COMEX, CBOE, Philadelphia Exchange and AMEX. He has experience trading in hard-to-borrow issues, dividend spreads, takeover situations, distressed debt, convertibles and pairs trading.
His reputation in the industry earned Mr. Saferstein an invitation to become a partner in Pax Clearing Corporation, subsequently acquired by Merrill Lynch. In 2000 he was elected to be a floor official on the AMEX, and was later elevated to the role of Exchange Official where he served on numerous policy and rules committees.
Mr. Saferstein sold G&D in 2004 and today is responsible for investor relations, raising capital, managing credit facilities and underwriting for Titan Capital. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
